We are Colin Ward and Alice Savage, a couple of English language teachers who met at Lone Star College in Houston, Texas and discovered a common passion for testing theory in the classroom. This hunger to help our students learn better and faster led to a collaboration on the Trio series by Oxford University Press as well as other ELT projects. 

We created this blog as a place to share ideas and activities. As coursebook authors and classroom practitioners, we are completely invested in keeping the classroom relevant in a time of change.

On the posts and tabs, you’ll find articles and activities related to different aspects of language development. There are fluency reading texts, pragmatics lessons, grammar practice activities, and even drama techniques, all guided by the principle that language is a dynamic system that emerges from what happens among and between people.
